Since childhood I have been fascinated by childbirth and even more fascinated by people. I fell in love with a man who's goal in life was to be a helper, which has inspired me to do the same. My husband helps individuals with special needs and I help individuals realize that their needs are special.
My Philosophy
When it comes to birthing, I believe it is one of the most beautiful and powerful expressions of womanhood, best experienced as designed.
Some women can be intimidated by the idea of a natural birth, afraid of the unknown, or burdened by the anxiety of repeating a negative birthing experience from the past. I honor the whole woman; body, mind and spirit, acknowledge and value her thoughts and feelings and help Mama combat any intimidation, fear or anxiety with knowledge and compassionate care, just as I did with myself.
In my thorough teaching of the birthing process, I emphasize the importance of nutrition and fitness to keep Mama and baby healthy and low risk, as well as to prepare the body for the rewarding hard work the laboring process involves. Emotional support and communication with partners is an additional piece to the puzzle that will also greatly contribute to birthing and parenting success thereafter.
